What we do
BizPower Benefits is the executer of the plan benefits for employer-sponsored ESPAs. Our four service areas are plan documents creation assistance, the employer technology portal, the employee technology portal, and simplified onboarding and offboarding of employees. Together, they give employers a fully supported way to put an ESPA in place without learning a new set of regulations or building a new HR function.

Built on named IRS code sections
The ESPA is structured under IRS Codes 213(d), 106(a), 105(b), 1.105-11(i), and 104(a)(3), and is consistent with Office of Chief Counsel Memorandum 201703013. We name the code sections publicly so brokers, CPAs, and HR directors can verify the structure.
Three integrated documents, not a workaround
Every ESPA we put in place includes three integrated documents: a Section 125 Cafeteria Plan, a Self-Insured Medical Reimbursement Plan (SIMRP), and preventive health benefits. Many programs in the market are missing one of the three; that gap is the source of the compliance problems other SIMRP TPAs have run into.

Our employer technology portal, employee technology portal, and onboarding flows are built specifically for the ESPA. Every feature exists to make the plan simpler to put in place and simpler to administer.

Note: Tax benefits stem from the structure of the Self-Insured Medical Reimbursement Plan, which uses pre-tax funding. Employers benefit from reduced FICA taxes, while employees only realize tax advantages if they actively participate in the plan and earn the reimbursement after-tax. Without participation, any reimbursement becomes taxable, negating the financial benefit.
